Marriage as provided under the Women’s Chart of the Republic of Singapore, between a husband and a wife, the matrimonial union of a man and a woman, voluntarily entered for life, to the exclusion of all others (the Interpretation Act), is the tradition and accepted norm for the Singaporean community, so we promote marriage and the lifestyle of honoring such marriage vows.
